Architectural Wonders: Cleveland is home to several architectural marvels. The Terminal Tower located in Public Square was the second tallest building in the world when it was constructed in 1929. Currently, it is the second tallest tower in Cleveland. An observation deck on the Terminal Tower offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area including Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River.
Another beautiful work of architecture is the Old Arcade, which is one of the best arcades in the world. It is a five storey high structure with intricate metal work. A sky lighted atrium is the focal point of the arcade as are the nine storey high towers beside the Old Arcade.
The Hope Memorial Bridge in Cleveland is one of the few swing bridges still in operation. It is named after the father of Bob Hope, who worked on the construction of this bridge. The bridge is bordered by art deco sculptures, which portray the evolutionary progress in the field of ground transportation.
