Cleveland is the county seat of the Cuyahoga County of Ohio. It is the most populated county of the region and the city itself has several suburban neighborhoods, which form a part of the city’s population.

The suburban history of Cleveland is complex and very long. Some of the suburbs date back to the time when the city was first established while others are recent additions. These suburbs vary widely in terms of layout and have a very diverse population, which lends the city its unique cultural flavor. The suburbs of Cleveland are divided into two areas, the East Side and West side. The two sides of Cleveland are vastly different and have their own unique characteristics. Both sides have their share of good suburbs as well as the shady ones.

Some of the prominent suburban neighborhoods in Cleveland include Bedford Heights, Brook Park, Brooklyn, Cleveland Heights, Cuyahoga Heights, Maple Heights, Parma Heights, South Euclid, Bedford, East Cleveland, Brooklyn Heights, Linndale, Lakewood, Newburgh Heights, Euclid, Warrensville Heights, Parma, Fairview Park, Shaker Heights, University Heights and Garfield Heights.

While most of these suburbs are good for living in, the best suburbs are determined by their proximity to good schools, health institutions, neighborhood safety, nearby markets and several other conveniences. Westlake is one such suburban neighborhood, which is excellent in terms of investing in property. Westlake has a tax base, which is diverse, thus leading to less taxation from the citizens.  The schools in this area are excellent and so are the medial facilities.

Cleveland Heights too enjoys a good reputation as a suburb. Cleveland Heights is especially good for those interested in arts since that area is home to several accomplished musicians and artists. As a result, the entire Cleveland Heights suburb is very arts oriented.

If you have school going children, you might want to invest in real estate in the suburbs of Shaker Heights, Solon, Medina, Beachwood, Chagrin Falls and Rocky River.

Other excellent suburbs in Cleveland include the old Brooklyn locality, Willoughby, Euclid and Mentor.

All the suburbs mentioned above offer excellent facilities for living and are great places to invest in. If you are considering investing in Cleveland, these suburbs are definitely not to be ignored.
